Merry Christmas to all of you, who have made their way to my website these days, if not I hope you had a nice time with your family & friends and welcome to a new year.
This week I have found some new clothes for your wardrobe. These clothes are very suitable for after the hollidays, specially if you need to workout after all the christmas treats you`ve had…
S.Café®, is the brand I want to introduce you to this time. They had a great idea and I really want to share it with you, in my last blog about coffee.
The Brand was founded in 2009 by Jason Chen, who worked hard for four years with his group of innovators and enviromental partners to incorporate coffeegrounds into his clothes. With this new technology he did not only recycle coffee but also PET-bottles which leads to the great slogan: Drink it, Wear it.™ For one piece of textile he will need around 3 cups of coffeegrounds and 5 PET-bottles.
The concept not only sounds great but also has some nice advantages over other clothes, in particular for people who like to work out or tend to sweat a lot. Because of the coffegrounds in the yarn, the clothes offer a great protection against unpleasent odors, furthermore the material dries two times faster then ordinary cotton, furthermore the clothes have a very light touch. An other positive sideffect is the UV-protection, which is five times higher then the one of cotton.
The whole brand is about sustainability they even use the oil of the coffegrounds for further processing cosmetic products like soaps and lotions.
On their website you can find great videos and detailed informations about the production. If you click on products, you will find their partners and selling points. Because the company is in Taiwan it is rather difficult to find retailers for Europe, nevertheless I find it a very inspiring idea.
